SOLFERINO is the metro stop (circa 1910) one takes to access the Musee d’Orsay. This museum is one of the first Paris spots Kande and Lenn visited 25 years ago. Located in the Seventh Arrondissment -it originated as a train station which was renovated & then re-opened in 1986. Musee d’Orsay is full of priceless art, much of it from Impressionists such as Cezanne, Degas, Gauguin, and Manet to name a few. One of Kande’s favorite things is to have an afternoon pastry and cafe au lait in a museum cafe, and the d'Orsay has a wonderful cafe upstairs, where you can peer-out from behind the huge clock from the original railway station.
